Community Service
For over 60 years, Mitcham Rotary SA has strived to make our community a better place. We have built community and sensory gardens, undertaken clean ups, provided support, donations and funding to a variety of charities and helped those who need it most.
Fred's Van
We have extended our support of Fred's Van. As well as regularly donating beanies, scarves, gloves and other warm clothes for distribution to Adelaide's homeless people, our members also volunteer at Fred's Van in Kilburn, where we prepare and serve hot meals and provide companionship over dinner to those who need it.

And with the generosity of Beck's Bakehouse on Winston Avenue at Melrose Park who donate large quantities of food, our members arrange to collect the donations and deliver the food to the Fred's Van warehouse where the food is all prepared and packed for later distribution to the needy in the Adelaide City area.

Unley Salvos Community Meals
Working closely with the Salvation Army corps, our club members happily prepare and serve meals to those people who come along and enjoy the fellowship of others while having a nutritious dinner.

We assist by providing socks as well as warm fingerless mittens to Unley Salvos who have a “Hope Tree” outside their premises with items that those who are seeking shelter nearby at night can access to help keep warm.

Furthermore, we provide dignity bags packed with essential items for young people doing it tough in our community. These bags are delivered to the Unley Salvos who then arrange distribution.

Sensory Garden
To ensure residents have a relaxing and pleasant environment to spend some time, our volunteers worked hard to create a Sensory Garden at Resthaven Westbourne Park. The fence and gate were completed with help from a grant from City of Mitcham toward part of the cost as well as our Club's usual fundraisers.

The work was possible with the efforts from our club members, our ongoing fundraising efforts and a District Grant from the Rotary Foundation and help from Bunnings.

So proud of what our club has achieved and very grateful for our partners.
