A Community Service

As well as being our major fundraiser, necessary to support the humanitarian and community projects we undertake, the bookshop itself is a community service. We have people from 18-90 years of age dropping in, having a chat, purchasing books and many subsequently become volunteers.

Because we sometimes have an excess of books, or duplicates, we are committed to finding the best use for them. We have several outlets - South Pacific School Aid, Inc. and Books4Lesotho. We have also provided books to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Street Libraries, Prison Libraries, and the Trinity Baptist Church. Unwanted paperbacks are sent on to a company who turn them into kitty litter - another recycling project.
